There’s a new Miss Staten Island

Unlike the last one, she’s not a sanitation worker.

I’m not really sure what her career is, but she recently graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a BA degree in Psychology, according to her LinkedIn profile. (The previous Miss Staten Island does not have a LinkedIn profile; I guess you don’t need one to be a garbagewoman).

She only has 517 followers on Instagram. Definitely not someone who is Instafamous.

  1. Pretty but not intimidatingly so. Not too made-up or stick-thin. Looks like a nice gal! You’re right that she has a low follower count for a young girl…especially one doing pageants. It seems like every popular 17 year old nowadays has closer to 1000. Maybe it’s a new account for her pageant persona or something.

Off-topic–do you have any camera recommendation nowadays? I’ve been using my iPhone exclusively for photos and it’s great when I’m just looking at the photo on my phone, but when I try to print them out the resolution is terrible. I find it’s particularly bad when I try to enlarge the photo. Anything you’d recommend for under $500?

    • Amazon is selling the Olympus E-M10 II with a kit lens for exactly $499.

But you need to learn Lightroom or Photoshop plus Adobe Camera Raw to get the best photos. I use Photoshop CS6. You can use the Adobe DNG convert RAW files to DNG format if your camera is too new for the older CS6 software to support the RAW files directly out of camera.

      • Adobe offers a scaled down free version of Photoshop for the iPad, You can do a lot with it. It’s too tempt you to to go to the full scale version.

  2. The modern prole tendency of getting crappy degrees at crappy schools seeks to be the worst of both worlds. Low IQ proles don’t get useful career skills nor they do end up tracked to prestige careers.

      • Yes, because a psych degree at Marymount Manhattan prepares someone to be a lineman.

The previous beauty queen was the sanitation worker.

  3. Who’s the new Miss Manhattan? What would a gold digging, status whoring, spinster, feminist, careerist, ageing 10, sociopathic, PR professional look like?

    • I was not able to find any information at all about a Miss Manhattan. If there is such a pageant, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she were Hispanic from northern Manhattan.

  4. In previous eras, a pretty, pleasant girl could have been a secretary at a corporation and married an up and coming executive.

Now, with assortative mating, people tend to marry mates exclusively from the same socioeconomic background, so pretty working class girls don’t get the chance to marry up as often any longer.

    • The sanitation worker Miss Staten Island will probably wind up marrying another sanitation worker, or maybe a cop or a fireman.

      • BA in Psycho at a prole school — a lucky student advisor at a sh!tty school might end up marrying her.

        Ok, what, who's this again?

November 19, 2018 at EST pm

    • Assortative mating is the natural order of things. As an HBD blog reader I hope you understand that. Doctors have no business marrying plumbers or lawyers with marrying sheet metal workers.

    • Maybe I’m just embittered, but I don’t see it as the working class girls not having a chance (meaning the higher class men aren’t interested,) but rather that the girls themselves aren’t interested in the higher class men. In the past a girl like that would have been attracted to a higher class guy because he could provide such a better life, but now that we have such plenty, that’s not a factor anymore and she’s only attracted to macho prole guys. As a doctor, I would be happy to marry a working-class girl of good character, but it seems like they’re only interested in cops and firemen. (Lion will probably say that thanks to assortative mating, there aren’t likely to be any working class girls of good character in the first place anymore, which may be true.)

      • It could be because the higher class men used to be masculine on average. Nowadays many high class men seem even gayer than genuine homosexuals.

      • As a doctor why do want to marry working class women. This is what I don’t get about Americans.
If you are a doctor you want to marry in same class. Imagine you at an party of fellow doctors and your wife is grocery store checkout girl. She could be a 10 and still horrible match for u.
Nothing wrong with banging working class women for you (if u can manage it). But marriage is not good idea.
When will Americans learn that marriage is NOT just about love or looks. (not should be). Lots of other factors. Family, class, education…..all of it matters.

      • “Nothing wrong with banging working class women for you”

        Nothing wrong except:
        1. She gets pregnant and demands child support for bastard
        2. Steals your stuff when she breaks up with you
        3. Get into a physical fight with her and you get put in jail for domestic violence (happened to Michael Avenatti)
        4. Her prole brothers who are bodybuilders beat you up

      • Lol @ Lion. Yes it’s all possible and could happen. I was not encouraging him to bang working class women, just saying he doesn’t have to marry them just because he desires them.

      • I hate to say this but a lot of male doctors are nerdy and creepy. Women sense nerdiness like sharks smell blood, but instead of being attracted they’re repulsed. I’m nerdy myself but even I experience a visceral revulsion around some nerds. There has to be a biological reason for this because it doesn’t make sense otherwise. Even if women are programmed to be attracted to tough guys (which I don’t necessarily believe) that doesn’t explain the active revulsion – you would expect women to simply be disinterested.

      • There were girls here and there I had a realistic shot with who were generally considered attractive by guys in my social circle, but they all lacked a certain je ne sais quoi that would have made them sexually desirable enough to me that I would have signed on to spend the rest of my life with one of them. Part of the problem is that I was plagued by a tendency toward severe oneitis until my mid-thirties, and none of the girls I had oneitis for ever liked me back.

      • Gamemeisters are right about oneitis being a really bad thing.

      • @toomanymice For myself, if the nerd is physically good-looking he’s acceptable. That’s how I ended up marrying one. I now think he’s high functioning autistic. We divorced after a few years but not before two kids so from Darwin’s POV, the divorce was irrelevant.

Yo, Lion. Ever heard of condoms, and safe-deposit boxes, and restraining orders? I’ve found them to be highly useful.

      • Oneitis is debilitating. It dominates your life. While this wasn’t the only factor, I’d be lying if I denied that part of the reason I went to medical school was that I was trying to impress the girl who was at the time the object of my oneitis.

  5. Her bathing suit top is weird. The cups are too large, as if they were designed for a woman with significantly larger teats.

  7. If these beautry pageants really are about ‘how you look on the inside’ maybe they could ditch the actual contest and just show us an MRI scan of every contestant.

I would take a ‘garbage woman’ as you call them, over a pschology graduate any day. If there’s one thing worse that an a woman with a pointless degree, it’s a woman with a pointless degree who thinks that this piece of toilet paper with a university logo stamped on it makes her A Force To Be Reckoned With.

    • I would think that a prole woman, even one with a “useless” degree from a “crappy” school wouid be given some credit by the people on this website, simply for aiming for a college degree and succeeding in getting one. While your average BA recipient is no genius, just getting the BA does show a certain degree of intelligence, and perseverance – the famous “future time orientation” that we talk so much about on LOTB. We know that some jobs are closed to you if you don’t have a BA no matter how talented you are (I’ll exclude the “Good Will Hunting” type of situation.) Also, Staten Island is not exactly known as a center of intellectual achievement and career ambition. Consider where she came from she didn’t do so poorly.
