Heat Miser says “green Christmas”

This guy must have been reading my blog! He has intervened and canceled out my previous forecast. He hates snow and doesn’t want any of the gentile boys and girls to have a white Christmas.

After a warmy and rainy Nor’easter passes through New York City early Friday, December 21, there will be no frigid cold and no snow, through Christmas.

The week between Christmas and New Year’s still holds the potential for a snowstorm.

  1. That’s actually a cute song. Those stop motion christmas specials freaked me out as a kid for some reason.

Nightmare Before Christmas is the best christmas movie ever! You should write a review of it.

  2. OT but you might want to update your article about “Why a Career in Computer Programming Sucks.” U.S. News has software development as a #1 career. Just curious, are you still in the field? Can I get in without a computer science degree and just go through a boot camp?

      • Lion works in a cost center IT department. Mid career programmers in profit centers and actual software companies are routinely making $250K+ and are winding up in upper management or starting their own companies. Lion shoulda tried to make the jump ten+ years ago but missed the boat. Definitely would have had to get out of NYC as that is not where the relevant jobs and culture are, which colors his entire perspective.

        Shawn,

A boot-camp may break you out of prole tier jobs to solidly middle class, but realistically you need a degree and at least a few years of quality experience to make a solid career out of it. If you already have an undergrad degree I would plan on shooting for a full-time masters program where you can study applied statistics and compsci for about two years. A university town in the mid-west with low cost of living might be a relevant consideration.

I would first see what kind of GRE score you can possibly get. If it’s not too low, then save cash to get through the degree and self study on the undergrad stuff you missed before considering a “boot camp.” You’d probably have to get some proctored test certs in calculus and so-forth to get in anywhere, if that’s not on your undergrad transcript. Depending on your discipline that might involve some community college classes.

      • People stay in NYC for a number of reasons. For one, it offers cultural amenities not found in Plainville, USA.

Try accessing the French Embassy for up to date events pertaining to France in other parts of Greater Meriprolestan. Not only are some of them further away from the European continent, foreign nationals and professionals specifically avoid lesser American cities.

        Ok, what, who's this again?

    • Yes, you can, but you gotta have good aptitude. It has to be the right fit. In general, Lion is right. It’s not something I would want to today, even though I always liked programming.

    • The Deep State is determined to punish Trump for becoming President, and he apparently has no power to stop it, despite being called “authoritarian” by his political enemies.

      • There is no winning for him, unless he becomes the authoritarian they all pretend he is.

They will continue to thwart his efforts to keep his campaign promises, as sporadic and half-hearted as those efforts have been, and they will continue to use the special prosecutor to threaten his friends and associates, to weaken him.

The point is to strike fear in him, and in those nearest him, but it seems like he has been afraid the whole time. Afraid or otherwise unable to do what is needed. To fire Mueller, to close the borders, to ignore judicial rulings, to dissolve the 9th court, to ignore or even dissolve congress if needed.

I’d certainly be afraid to work for his administration at this point.

      • Trump needed to hire guys like me, who are eager to take a bullet for him, but he never did.

      • If Trump gave the word, if he showed he truly wanted it, I might drop everything for him. I don’t think he is that person though.
