More info about the Smollett attack

Police were summoned to an apartment in the 300 block of East North Water Street after a man who identified himself as a friend of Smollett’s called 911 and said that a “well-known” person had been assaulted and battered after leaving his apartment, and they wanted a report.

I think that’s a key piece of information that it wasn’t Smollett himself who called the police.

Perhaps Smollett left the apartment to cheat on his gay boyfriend with some gay hookup, but the encounter went bad, and Smollett came back to the apartment all beat up, and he doesn’t want to tell his gay boyfriend that he left for a gay hookup, so he makes up a dumb story about being attacked by racists, and then the friend insists on calling the police and Smollett can’t think of a good reason to stop him from doing so. And then when the police come, Smollett sticks with his attacked-by-racists story.

Police reviewed video from dozens of public and private surveillance cameras in the Streeterville area. As of 2:45 p.m. they had not seen any images of the attackers. Investigators have found footage of Smollett alone inside the Subway shop.

Consistent with the gay hookup gone bad theory, Smollett voluntarily went somewhere private where there would not be video cameras, and then got into the fight.

A source familiar with the investigation told CWBChicago that the rope was “thin clothesline, straight out of the package.” The Sun-Times reports that the rope “didn’t necessarily resemble a noose” as has been widely reported.

* * *

Smollett was still wearing the noose around his neck when police arrived at his friend’s apartment nearly 45 minutes after the attack, according to a police spokesperson. Police took the rope as evidence.

This part is a little mysterious. So there really was a rope. Not a “noose,” thus not a symbol or racism, but also a strange way to attack someone. Could be the rope was used for something sexual.

  1. It’s a noose if you call it a noose, so he called a clothesline a noose and that’s how it’s reported.

    • No noose is good noose.

Nah, the gay BF beat him up and the rope is a prop in this deception. (He is an actor, after all.)

I used to work with a gay Latino and he would come in with facial bruises a lot.

  3. These hoaxes are becoming so common that it is hard to believe any of them. The MSM and leftists in general wish it was 1960, so that the liberals could be the good guys, and conservatives purely racist. This would make liberal so happy, even if blacks were getting beat up for no reason. Liberals are clinging to their glory days.

  4. OT but we are now getting a white-out snow in NYC. The weather reports screwed up bigly. We were supposed to get snow last night and zero degrees today but go no snow & reasonably mild temps.

    January 30, 2019 at 3:54 PM

  5. I think “gay hook-up gone wrong” is even more likely than my previous suggestion of a former paramour with a grudge. No one is going out in subzero temps at 2am to beat someone up. But I figure someone would go out at 2am for some booty. We’re going to have to start calling him Jussie “Booty Warrior” Smollet.

    • Check his cell phone; would a Grindr pickup be on it?

Come to think of it, does Grindr keep records?

(What a ridiculous thing to get involved in. Grindr strikes me as an open invitation to assault, or entrapment by the Deep State.)

      January 31, 2019 at 11:48 AM

      • He refused to turn his phone over to the police, according to the report on Good Morning America. It was kinda funny, the black news lady reporting the story was obviously skeptical about the whole thing, right in front of God and America and everyone.

    • Look on the bright side of infanticide.

Any woman who would have her baby murdered just before (or during) birth is a person whose genes should not be propagated.

      • “Where does that leave the infant?”

Not good for the infant. But the rest of us are probably better off with one less child of that sort of a woman.

    • To be fair, a woman can begin dilating a month before she actually gives birth. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where “labor” begins.

  7. “Smollett was still wearing the noose around his neck when police arrived at his friend’s apartment nearly 45 minutes after the attack, according to a police spokesperson. Police took the rope as evidence.”

Okay, I was at work before and dust didn’t read carefully. I just read the above. It’s obvious that this whole thing is a hoax.

He put the clothes line rope around his own damn neck. He had a bad Grindr hookup, or maybe he fell in the cold and bruised his face.

This whole thing is bullshit. We can’t discuss it except in terms of utter total racial pathology.

What is this country going to be like in 10 years?

    January 30, 2019 at 6:07 PM

    • There will be more hate hoaxes, and pretty soon no one will believe the real hate crimes.

      January 30, 2019 at 11:10 PM

      • What real hate crimes? The ones blacks commit against whites, which are then only begrudgingly categorized as hate crimes, but probably not?

  9. people on twitter saying it was a fight after he hooked up with some guy’s boyfriend at a gay bar earlier that night, and they tracked him down and beat him up. he drunkenly gave the nonsense story to his manager, who is the one who then called police.

      January 31, 2019 at 11:49 AM

  10. It’s being reported that the cops have video evidence of the attack and liberals on twitter are desperately holding their breath waiting to see a Trump supporter getting pulled out from under his rock.

    January 30, 2019 at 7:02 PM

  11. Tim Pool, who grew up in Chicago and used to skateboard at 2 am in the exact location the attack is supposed to have occurred, is very skeptical about this.

  13. Who the hell is stupid enough to announce their political leanings while committing a crime? That alone should have told the Left/MSM that this is “too good to be true.”

  14. Ellen DeGeneres tweeted support for Smollet, who came out on her show four years ago. But her support got thrown back at her because she forgave Kevin Hart for making gay jokes.

    January 30, 2019 at 10:56 PM

    • OK I’m confused. In the lefty religion, who has the power of forgiveness of gay sins? NOT Ellen? I don’t understand their theology.

  15. Rob Elgas of ABC 7 has done the best non biased reporting on this. You can find him on Twitter. They have him on camera walking back. There is about a minute of missing footage and then he appears at his building wearing a rope like a necktie. He also had road salt on his shirt. Both him and his manager say they were on the phone and the manager says he heard the whole thing, including all the slurs and maga stuff. The police asked for his phone but he refused to give it up. Didn’t show them the phone logs either. The minute off camera is still unknown. My theory at this point is that he found the rope on the ground. Either way, what happened is starting to come into focus.

  16. There are many key pieces of information that cast tremendous suspicion on this story, but most important is that it was the boyfriend/manager/whatever that made the call and not Smollet himself coupled with the police comments that Smollet was reluctant to press charges. Smollet had already forwarded a death threat note he received to the FBI. But now he is assaulted by unknown attackers, potentially the very same dangerous people who sent him that note, and he’s reluctant to have the police get involved? Makes no sense. It only makes sense if he knew who the attackers were and that they weren’t in any way connected to the anonymous death threats.

  17. Hey Lion why don’t you discuss the decline of New York? All you do is make excuses for the crappy mayor while personal experience suggests the city has become a dump on his watch. Looks like affluent residents didn’t know what they were voting for when they backed him and now miss Giuliani/Bloomberg.

      • You often downplay crime and other social blight suggesting that the long term effect of reforms enacted in the 1990s and 2000s has yet to run out of steam but having visited New York during her Renaissance and visiting again a few years back it was a completely different experience. Standards were already in major decline because the political winds had changed. There were hobos, panhandlers, and other undesirables everywhere while the police were nowhere to be found either on my second trip and everything looked tired, old, and run down. I agree with those who say Las Vegas will become the successor to the big apple.

  18. “gay hookup gone bad”

Sounds like a slightly off Eagles song.

    • Lions speculation on these stories is often… uhm… interesting.

I agree this story is full of holes but if there was an actual attack connected to the letter it’s more likely a crazed stalker than some kind of kkk throwback.

      January 31, 2019 at 10:36 AM

    • There is a divine theory that “most gay hookups are bad.”
