Look who’s in the lead

with 24 comments

In a crowded field, name recognition counts for a lot! The two guys in the lead are white men who are so old that they will become octogenarians during their first term in office.

Good news for America is that Grandpa Joe is the least liberal guy that Dems could possibly nominate, and I’ve long suspected that secretly he doesn’t believe in any of the SJW crap. Once in office, he could become an old grouch who drops the SJW charade.

  1. Biden is way too old now. He’s really frail. 2016 was his shot, but it was Her Turn.

  2. It’s going to be Kamala.

  3. Oh please, it’s gonna be Harris. Woman? Check. Minority? Check. Well spoken, highly-educated, non-threatening and biracial like Obama? Check. She’ll clean Donnie’s clock in the debates, but so did Hillary.

  5. My bet is Warren/O’Rourke (that is Pres & VP).

    • Your ticket will not happen. O’Rourke is not taken seriously enough by anybody to mount a successful presidential campaign. You might say he lacks something, can’t put my finger on it. Also, there is too much evidence that Warren is a self-serving schemer. She should save herself some face and quit early on.

A more realistic ticket is Harris/Klobuchar or Harris/O’Rourke. Schultz and Bloomberg would likely never accept the VP spot. They should quit now. I can’t imagine what goes through these rich but standoffish guys’ heads that makes them think they are electable.

      • You yourself say O’Rourke might make it as VP, and that’s exactly what I said. He doesn’t have enough gravitas yet to run for Prez. Neither did Obama but he got the black pass.

There’s no point arguing about this, it’s like arguing who will win a football game, but I think that Warren has the right combo to be last person standing. All the Pocohontas stuff won’t stick; in fact it will make Trump look silly. He a great insult comedian so I think he’ll use that until it loses efficacy and then he’ll glom onto something else.

  6. It’s hard to see blacks being enthusiastic about any of them except Kamala. I just can’t see them being enthused about a vegan bachelor (homosexual?) like Booker.
But the Dems have to bring out a strong black vote.
Some complete outsider may come along, a la Trump.

    • Blacks will not be enthusiastic about Harris.

She’s half-black but unlike Obama, she is married to a white person, and a Jew at that.

Blacks (esp. women) didn’t love Obama until they learned he was married to a bona fide African-American. I saw this with my own eyes.

Harris has no appeal to blacks. Hillary has more appeal. Biden too.

      • “Blacks were Hillary supporters until late in the game.”

No – Michelle and kids got hauled out fairly early in the game. I remember this distinctly as if it were yesterday.

The early adopters were young whites – right after that speech at the convention, and then intensifying right after he announced. All I heard was Obama. But no one knew who he was and in fact most assumed he had a white wife.

Then came Michelle and whammo, you could barely escape the stampede. Poor Hillary. All those years singing spirituals in churches up in smoke. I bet she felt someways tired!

(skip to 0:47 to get through the dreary Hill-speak.)

  7. Elizabeth Warren, Tulsi Gabbard and Howard Schultz are the only candidates now who could beat Trump.

    Paul Rise

February 12, 2019 at EST pm

    • Warren is the only candidate who cannot beat Trump. The fake Indian stuff is too damaging.

Gabbard is not a favored candidate of the establishment, so is unlikely to be nominated. Schultz is unlikely to be nominated at the top of the ticket, because he is a white man. Likewise for Joe Biden, but the argument against him is made stronger because he is so old.

As other commenters have said, Harris is the favorite. She would likely beat Trump in the general as well, assuming nothing big changes between now and then.

Yes, truly amongst the most breathtaking unforced errors ever witnessed in politics.

Chief Stolen Grievance shoulda kept her mouth shut and let it die away, or employed it as a dogwhistle cudgel against President Trump.

We don’t know the nominee yet. It will lean heavily on Trump’s popularity. If Trump is unpopular, they will run Michelle Obama, Harris, or another African in America. If Trump is popular, they will run an old gluehorse like Biden, Her Turn 2016, or Chief Stolen Grievance.

  8. Biden is the best of the worst. He loves Amtrak, which we in the NE Corridor need, and would do all the Gateway tunnel stuff under the Hudson and in the Meadowlands (the Portal Bridge), which Trump, who obviously knows how important that is, seems to be ignoring. I would vote for Biden versus a Republican cuck. And 99.99% of Republicans are cucks. But I would not vote for him versus Trump, even if Trump fails with the wall. I have too much emotional capital invested in Orange Cheetos.

    • No chance. Africans in America will never tolerate a fellow African at veep below a stale pale male at prez. That’s de facto racist right there — we already had an African president and, unless the prez is also African, we won’t see an African in the veep spot: it’ll be an inseperable twofer.

      • hard9bf: First off, you don’t know what you are talking about. I’m African American LOL. AMERICAN…

I think I know a lot more about US than you know about US.

A lot of black people are not sold on Harris.

She has a white husband. She was a prosecute. She has no plan for black people (and is scared to speak about it although all politicians can speak about illegals and gays all day). She keeps doing stupid stagged videos and interviews where she is trying to dance to hiphop and said she smoked weed and listened to Snoop Dog and Tupac YEARS before they came out. LOL She may have went to an HBCU, but she is not closely connected to the black community besides being a “jump off” who got some kickback corruption job from the Ex-mayor of Seattle.

Black people are over “black faces in high places” they want #tangibles not to live vicariously through some half black politician raised by an Indian immigrant in Canada after her foreign black father divorced her mother. “We see her”.

  11. Biden by far has the best chance to win the rust belt states that Trump won in 2016. Harris fits all the leftist demographic boxes but I could easily see the rust belt (especialy rust belt men) voting for Trump over her.

    • Good point. There’s really no such thing as national politics other than candidates being on the ballot in all 50 states. But a candidate has to win at the state level.

  13. No Party for Old White Men.

Sorry, but Biden doesn’t have a chance. I realize that right now name recognition DOES help him out in these early polls, but the committed faithful who have to volunteer and work on these campaigns are not going to be interested in perpetuating white privilege. Maybe he can be an ambassador to old age homes.
