Joe Biden in the NY Times

Mr. Biden has already pushed back several self-imposed deadlines for a decision, extending an end-of-2018 timeline into January and then into March. One Democrat eager to work for Mr. Biden was told to expect a launch this month, but more recently got word that April was more likely.

. . .

Yet in multiple interviews with Democratic aides and officials, including some who plan on working for a Biden candidacy, there are boy-who-cried-wolf doubts about his intentions and deep questions about his viability in a party that is increasingly young, female and nonwhite.

. . .

Prominent Democrats from the early nominating states say Mr. Biden must move soon.

“He has a lot of good will in this state,” said Gilda Cobb-Hunter, a longtime South Carolina lawmaker. “But if he’s going to get in he needs to get in. I think the window is closing.”

It seems to me that if he really wanted to run, he wouldn’t keep pushing back the date. And this is the same thing he did in the previous presidential election cycle and never ran.

Biden is the opposite of Trump. Trump wanted to run but didn’t have any organization of people who knew what they were doing or any establishment support. Biden, on the other hand, has this organization of experienced people and a large percentage of establishment Democrats want Biden to run, but Biden doesn’t seem that interested. That’s why I bet money on Biden NOT running. I already won my bet on Bloomberg not running. I wish I had bet a lot more money on that.

  2. No clue what Biden will do but he’s smart to stay out of the circular firing squad.

Kamala is already sinking – there was some kind of scandal in her office due to her stupidity and failure of both management and leadership in a crime lab when she was SF DA. She’s dead.

Whoever the nominee is will have to deal with the Ilhan Omar business, which will NOT settle down.

  3. Biden is smart enough to know that the videos now circulating of him molesting women and underage girls will ruin his chances and his legacy. Plus he is white, and when running as a Democrat I don’t know which is worse.

    • Not exactly, he just got photographed in a few unflattering positions, IE creepily touching an employers kid on the shoulder but he’s never been accused of anything. The creepy Biden stuff is all in jest

  5. I don’t think the Democrats are really interested in what he has to offer: Old white man with government experience. Where are those primary voters?

Are you speaking informally or were you paid out? Why do you not have to wait until October 31– the deadline for the bet?

  7. Joe Biden has run for president twice already, in 1988 and 2008, never coming close to being the presidential nominee in either campaign. What makes anyone think he’d do much better in 2020? Unless you believe the third time’s the charm.

    • The polls.

And the fact his name was on the same bumper stickers as Obama’s for eight years.
