Facebook amps up censorship

Standing Against Hate

“White nationalism” is now banned from Facebook. With no definition of what that means. But Facebook proudly announces that their AI will get better at automatically censoring “white nationalist” posts.

Is being against immigration “white nationalist?” Is human biodiversity “white nationalist?”

  1. Lion, HBD is definitely white supremacy.

Also, I believe that one day in the not too far future, people who post about white supremacy and so called HBD online anonymously will face career and reputational damage in RL. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.

      • It definitely has 99% overlap.

Only like 1% of self-identified “HBD believers” are not also part of any “alt-right” or “white nationalist” or “white separatist” ideology.

The vast majority of people who believe in HBD also hold strong animus against non-whites. I’ve only ever encountered 1 example of a self-identified “HBD believer” who did not hold anything against non-whites.

      • It is impossible to believe in both HBD and white supremacy. HBD is predicated on a belief in evolution via Darwinian Selection, meaning that each group is uniquely adapted to their own environment. White Supremacy is the belief that whites are somehow “supreme” in the animal kingdom, that they sit on the top of a ladder, with all other organisms below them. I watch a lot of alt right youtubers and I have never seen any of them say they believe in “white supremacy”. It is a cartoon enemy that the left has made up.

  3. It says: “white nationalism and separatism cannot be meaningfully separated from white supremacy”.

Unfortunately, there is some truth to this. More and more, the mainstream media use these terms interchangeably.

Many whites say that they have no ill will at all towards others, but simply prefer the company of their own kind. These whites get branded as white supremacists anyway.

I think whites have had their noses rubbed in it for so long they feel they have to justify themselves and prove they’re not “racist”. And I think the media’s continuous propaganda is the cause of it. It works because most people crave social acceptance. Curmudgeons such as myself don’t. 7. Haven’t we been hearing this since 1980. Doesn’t a career in IT suck?

OT: WSJ 03/26/19 – IT Jobs Are Boosting the Economy, Even Outside Tech Hubs

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/it-jobs-are-boosting-the-economy-even-outside-tech-hubs-11553623183?mod=hp_minor_pos4

The spread of cloud computing and data analytics is lifting the number of tech jobs and boosting the U.S. economy, according to trade group CompTIA.

A total of 11.8 million people held tech jobs in 2018, up 2.3% from the previous year, with gains led by software developers, systems analysts and cybersecurity analysts, and IT support specialists, CompTIA said in a report Tuesday. Tech jobs accounted for 7.6% of the U.S. workforce last year, up from 7.2% in 2017.

If the pace holds, the number of U.S. tech professionals is set to grow 13.1% over the decade between 2016 and 2026, creating 8.6 million new jobs, the report said. Over that period, the number of jobs for all occupations is projected to grow 10.7%.

Tech workers are about evenly split, according to the report: 46% work for technology companies, a category that includes Silicon Valley firms, while 54% work in IT in other industries…

As of the end of 2018, more than 100,000 workers in Charlotte had jobs in tech, either working for one of the city’s 4,228 tech firms or as IT professionals at local businesses, accounting for 8.1% of the city’s workforce, the report said.

Boise’s net tech employment hit 28,645 last year, up 4.1% from 2017, representing 8.4% of its workforce, the report said. In 2018, the city had just over 1,000 tech firms…

The tech sector generated an estimated $1.8 trillion last year, up from $1.6 trillion in 2017. Tech’s share of gross domestic product rose to 10.2% in 2018 from 9.2% in 2017…That makes tech the third biggest contributor to the economy, behind manufacturing and government services but ahead of the finance and insurance sectors…

A downside of higher demand for tech workers is a yawning talent gap…More than 80% of roughly 2,800 tech-hiring decision makers at U.S. firms, surveyed by Robert Half International Inc. this year, said finding tech talent was a challenge, especially business intelligence analysts, cloud architects, cloud systems engineers and data scientists…

Also, leftists of course want Sean Hannity and Ted Cruz branded as extreme and dangerous, and anything to the right of them as outside the Overton Window of acceptable on the internet or anywhere else in public life. One way that they work towards this of course is to collapse all distinctions between the different forms of trans-mainstream right wingism/white-awareness, with the distinctions of position and belief contained there, into one single Supremacist/Nazi/Klan/Terorrist category. The excellent FrameGamesRadio account on Twitter had some illuminating posts about the effort to do this and how dishonest it is, but sadly he is no longer with us.
