UFOs in the NY Times

Way more important than the elections in Europe.

“destructure” writes in a comment (about the European elections, not UFOs):

There was a scandal in Austria not unlike what they pulled during Trump’s campaign. The scandal was obviously timed to coincide with the elections. People suspect it was coordinated by one or more foreign intelligence agencies. Someone needs to track this back to the source and deal with it. Just like Trump needs to investigate the people responsible and deal with them.

As I’ve stated before, UFOs are far more likely to be Atlanteans* than extraterrestrials.

*Atlantis is the common name for an ancient technologically advanced civilization that is hiding from the world.

  4. The pendulum may be swinging back to that time in the ’70s when it was trendy to talk about ancient astronauts, pyramid power, zodiac signs, etc.

Even this show has been revived:

    • Yeah, given how stupid young people are nowadays, another Pet Rock type thing is long overdue.

I’m not so sure.

  6. The threat of climate change and Russian meddling is just not working like the elite wanted. They need some imaginary extraterrestrial beings to get people excited about a dystopian future. Even Lion could truly believe in some supreme beings, when he’s not worrying about Brexit.

  7. Can someone explain to me the difference these days between mainstream media and the National Enquirer?

    • There might be something believable in the National Enquirer.

  8. One time, my brother and I were on the freeway late at night when a blue light engulfed the car. We just looked at each other. It was probably a police helicopter.

Is it really? Are Bigfoot sightings more important than our own elections?

  11. I couldn’t care less about UFO’s. When they identify them then I’ll care. Until then, they’re not worth worrying about.

  12. If we are returning to the ’70s I hope we start talking about cults again. There’s a lot to be learned about group psychology from cults and since group psychology is employed to intimidate people into holding irrational beliefs at present, e.g., that group differences are reduced to culture, it would make a good vehicle for entertainment messages that are really about the government or the media (if the Right actually had artists, filmmakers, etc. to develop such memes).

    • You’re a really smart guy, but I think this a bit off. In the context of group life-outcome differences, the reason to get back to discussing cults is that group culture can become so cultlike that it might determine those differences, irrespective of native (genetic) ability. The black penchant for rap, pants-off-the-ass, non-standard English, blowing off school, etc. is all down to the requirement to act oppositional in order to be considered “black enough.” Everyone’s known this since the late-’80’s, but just agrees not to discuss. Actualiy, I’m not sure there’s ever been a more successful cult than the AYBE “Are You Black Enough?”) cult.
