Republicans love what?

Republicans love CEOs.

CEOs love legal abortion.

Does that mean that Republicans also love legal abortion?

  1. I’m not sure this means much. So the CEO’s of Lesbians Who Tech, Women Online and The Mission List, and MakeLoveNotPorn love abortion? Not much of a surprise.

    • Yeah, I’m surprised how weak that list of CEOs is. If anything, this announcement undermines the idea that abortion has corporate support (unlike LGBT, which has MASSIVE support).

I guess the corporate reasoning is that abortion is more controversial than LGBT. Why is this? I speculate that in our gynocentric culture, people mostly only care what women think. And women are split between abortion as a feminist issue vs. abortion as baby-killing. Meanwhile, although it’s a scientific fact that (even leftist) men have a strong visceral disgust reaction to male homosexuality, women do not have this reaction. Also, many women have gay male friends.

It’s pretty clownish that opposition to abortion is more acceptable than opposition to LGBT (even though I oppose both). Abortion (and even infanticide) have been controversial issues in many times and places throughout history. But gay marriage and this transgender nonsense are particular follies only committed by our decadent, late-stage civilization.

  2. Paul Ryan loved CEOs, especially CEOs of financial institutions. Ryan is out as is Republican love of CEOs.

I saw this back in the 90s when a high level female employee at Dayton-Hudson Corp. (Target) lectured an Republican member of congress at a fundraiser about abortion. Women are moralistic thinkers as opposed to targeted objective thinkers. The more you move moralistic thinking into a business the more this crap will happen.

    • Fiscal conservatism/capitalism entails: 1) open borders; 2) low wages 3) corporate welfare 4) profit as the only standard of morality.

You know, it’s a wonder America and the West didn’t collapse sooner. The paradigm in which it’s incentivized for a big brother to reject his little brother in favor of a cheap foreigner is poisonous and unstoppable once started.

  6. In the 1970s conservatives activist decided they need a great moral issue to unify the Christian Right to counter the civil rights movement which they saw as the moral issue liberals had unified around. At the time the IRS was threatening all white religious schools that churches had set up so that white parents could avoid sending their children to integrated schools. Evangelical leaders wanted to make this a religious liberty issue and claim that freedom of religion should allow them to operate all white schools. Paul Weyrich, a conservative Christian activist, convince Evangelical leaders that abortion would be a much better moral issue. At the time Evangelicals viewed abortion as a Catholic issue and some Evangelical leaders had supported it. Weyrich and others convinced Evangelical leaders to adopt strong anti-abortion positions.

Abortion is the issue that bonds Evangelicals to the Republican party to the point that they ignore almost everything else as long as Republicans keep appointing judges who will overturn Roe v Wade.

CEOs are a different Republican support group. Reduced taxes and de-regulation are the issues Republicans use to pander to CEOs.

      • I have three objections to abortion. First, women with so little self-respect they allow themselves to be used as c*m dumpsters. Second, women who are too dumb to use birth control correctly. And, third, abortion is gross as shit. Having said that, I still support abortion because people like that don’t need to breed. I find it hilarious that you try to play off your position as caring for the children. Yeah, the poor children you want to kill! haha Just admit that you want to whore around without risking an unwanted child.

      • @destructure

No one that I personally know has ever gotten an abortion.

My main objection to pro-lifers is that they create a burden on taxpayers. This is my main reason for supporting abortion. My family pays way too much in taxes as it is. It’s unfair to my mother, who has worked so hard to create wealth, and to support myself and my chronically ill father, to have to pay for the Section 8 and food stamps for low IQ people’s children.

As for myself personally, I don’t have any reason to ever get an abortion. I’m getting married soon to the only partner I have ever had, whom I started dating in high school. I just want other women to get abortions, because i don’t want my future kids to have to share a classroom with low IQ violent bastard kids.

  7. I bet Republicans love CEOs who actually make campaign contributions even more. The list looks like mostly media companies, women-focused businesses, and some SJW tech firms. I can’t imagine any of these companies ever contributed enough to Republicans for them to care.

      Brazilian

June 12, 2019 at EDT am

      • 20% of all german women are mentally ill?

Is that a joke? Of course they are, and it’s probably a lot higher than that. For starters, every German woman who ever held up a “refugees welcome” sign is 100% mentally ill. Every German woman who votes for a non-Nationalist party is mentally ill. Every German woman who votes for Merkel should be locked up for their own safety.

Like in Sweden, France and the UK, German women have totally lost their minds. Probably 40% are seriously mentally ill.

    • I’ve been reading Lion for years and even I have problems with the acronyms. He should put up a glossary.

      NAM = non-Asian minority.

Speaking of Asians (by which we mean Chinese or Koreans), I have recently met a few spectacular ones. And when I say spectacular I don’t mean only intellectually, although they are that. I mean… they are totally American or Americanized, brilliant, and just plain… nice. One young lady did me a huge huge favor out of the goodness of her heart.

Not saying I want a billion of ’em over here, just saying.

Oh, all of these were Chinese, not Korean. Again, just saying.

  14. Going back to the youtube demonetization topic. Maybe the solution is to ban youtube alltogether from showing any advertising on their site. If they are selecting who can be part of the monetization partner program based on their political opinions surely that is illegal in some way, and if it is too hard to police it then a complete ban might be an effective deterrent.

  15. More important: polls r now saying Biden crushin’ it against Trump. You can look ’em up.

    Whaddya think?

    gothamette

June 12, 2019 at EDT am

    • PS, most important takeaway of these polls is the strange, newfound respect for….

      THE WHITE VOTE!!!!!!

Not lying. The polls appear to indicate that Trump has actually increased his share of the black/Hispanic voting blocks, but the commentators hasten to add that that doesn’t matter. What’s important is

      THE WHITE VOTE!!!!

After all we’ve gone through, the commentariat discovers that Steve Sailer was right?

      HUNH?

Steve, if you are reading, take a victory lap. You earned it!

      gothamette

June 12, 2019 at EDT am

    • As Sailer has also noted, in other contexts, getting a big share of the Hispanic vote doesn’t actually mean a lot because most Hispanics are too lazy to vote. Hard to say if black support for Trump will help him. Blacks also are lazy about voting. Democrats have systems to drive blacks to the polls, not sure the GOP is set up to get Trump-supporting blacks to vote. The other problem for Trump is that the blacks and Hispanics who like him will still be drowned in a sea of blue voters in their districts. Biden is appealing to white swing voters in PA, Michigan and Ohio.

      Peter Akuleyev

June 13, 2019 at EDT am

      • Blacks have very high voter turnout. And they then to vote in lockstep for who black leaders tell them to vote for.

        Lion of the Blogosphere

June 13, 2019 at EDT am

      • But that’s my point. There is a well-oiled machine of activists, politicos and unelected “black leaders” set up to get blacks to the polls, and the GOP/Trump won’t be able to get *their* blacks to the polls because the machine is set up to prevent that from happening. That is one reason why blacks vote Democrat far more reliably than they talk or even believe Democrat. And even with that, black turnout has always been 5-6 percentage points below white turnout with two exceptions – 2008 and 2012. Pretty obvious why those years were different. So even if 15%-20% of black voters swing to Trump as their stated preference, it won’t matter.

        Peter Akuleyev

June 13, 2019 at EDT am

      • Sailer really knows how to put things…

It comes down to NUMBERS and turnout. Newsflash, whites still outnumber Hispanics and blacks, even put together.

        Note voter participation rates here:

        http://www.electproject.org/home/voter-turnout/demographics

Blacks now equal and in some cases outstrip whites in turnout.

I imagine that at one point Sailer was saying blacks were too lazy or disengaged to come out and vote.
