Billionaire heiresses support Cynthia Nixon

She’s the extreme-left candidate, with no actual experience holding an elected office or managing a large organization, who will help De Blasio destroy Stuyvesant High School. Of course, if Toby ever gets married and has kids (or does the single mother thing like Georgina Bloomberg), the kids will go to the best private schools that money can buy, so that’s not a problem for her.

Nixon also wants to raise taxes on the rich. As you see, rich people WANT their taxes to be raised! Which is why Republicans are so stupid to lower taxes for the class of people who vote against them.

  1. I hope Cynthia Nixon does win. I want to see liberal, middle class New York pay the price for supporting destructive policies and personalities all these decades. I want to see New York City ruined.

But she won’t win. Cynthia Nixon is too freakish even for New Yorkers. Her daughter just recently came out as a dude. So what do we have in the Cynthia Nixon household: a femme lesbian, a redheaded bull dyke with a guido last name and now a transgender “son”. An let’s not leave out the cuck, Danny Mozes, who appears to hang around the scene like a stray cat, scratching on the back door. Weird.

    • At the end of the day, the Upper East and West Sides of Manhattan, and let’s include parts of Midtown will be unscathed by liberal cannibalism. The wealthy has already paid “hush funds” to Bill de Blasio so his beloved NAMs will not encroach into their neighborhoods. So no affordable housing or public welfare works will be in proximity to NYC’s most privileged. It won’t happen and it will never happen.

  2. East Asian immigrants should make an exodus to California and join their cohorts in Silicon Valley. They don’t seem to be a significant or visible minority in NYC anyway. Part of the reason has to do with the value transference nature of NYC, where prestigious careers require a strong verbal ability and East Asians are weak in this department. So let Cynthia Nixon destroy Stuyvesant and other STEM oriented schools in NYC, because they are non-sequitur in NYC’s elitist world.

  3. “As you see, rich people WANT their taxes to be raised!”

Rich people in blue states (like New York) want their taxes to be raised. Rich people in red states (like Texas) don’t. There needs to be some way to give rich Democrats the social justice they deserve — good and hard — without harming Republicans.

    • From what I understand, the most recent tax law did that to an extent by getting rid of deductions for state and local taxes. That’s a big hit for wealthy people in places like New York, New Jersey, California, and Massachusetts.

      • Buffett, like all rich people, pays as little tax as legally required. It’s not hypocritical to take advantage of a loophole, but still acknowledge that it’s unfair.

Bill Gates has explicitly called for raising the capital gains tax, and I’m pretty sure that Buffett’s position is the same but can’t find an article: https://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/02/bill-gates-calls-for-higher-capital-gains-taxes.html

I can imagine in fact Trump trolling her on Twitter and causing all the proles in Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, etc. to come out and vote for Cuomo. Cuomo strikes me more as amoral politician than a crazy liberal, so who knows, he might even go with that flow.

This one has mainly narcistic post of him alone at the gym or with male friends in the wilderness … that looks like gay for money. Certainly Jewish genres give, in reasonable quantity, a sensibility that attracts some women, that’s why it doesn’t disappear by natural selection as all mutation that reduces reproductive chances do in absence of a bigger advantage for the beholder.

Someone has been reading too much Ayn Rand. Toby is just a stupid girl who understands that she has more money than she needs, and is not part of a knowing totalitarian conspiracy.

    • The people making that argument are so completely cucked that the thought of the mass of ordinary people reining in the wealth and influence of a tiny elite is completely alien to them and the only possible solution they can think of is replacing them with a new set of rich people. Sad! And every reform they suggest really just serves the intersts of entrenched power and the existing elite because everything they want just comes from thinktanks funded by rich people. Also sad!

  11. Do the rich really want their taxes raised?

Many if not most truly rich people book most income as long-term capital gains and qualified dividends. These are taxed at a lower rate than work income (in higher tax brackets).

Remember how much squealing there was from Blue State Democrats about capping the SALT deduction at $10,000?

Seems to me like they’re more interested in taxing their potential competition–ambitious strivers without significant assets who mainly have work income.

    https://pocketsense.com/new-york-capital-gains-taxes-7866610.html

Some pretty stiff capital gains taxes, but still a lot lower than top tax brackets on earned income.

Does Cynthia Nixon even have a capital gains tax plan?

Then there’s the fact that quite a lot of rich New Yorkers avoid spending more than 180 days per year in the state and thus don’t pay state or city income taxes.

And who wants to be in New York in January anyway? I’d certainly much rather be in Jupiter Island, Palm Beach, Miami Beach, Longboat Key, Grand Cayman, or St. Bart’s.

And when the dog days of summer arrive, of course you really must clear out to Dark Harbor, Kennebunkport, or Oyster Bay.

Naturally it goes without saying that several trips per year to Aspen, Jackson Hole, Park City, Newport Beach, Las Vegas, Napa Valley, Hilton Head, Martha’s Vineyard, and Western Europe are absolutely essential.

With such a busy social schedule, who has time to pay taxes in New York?

    Thorfinnsson

    June 25, 2018 at 11:45 AM

    • “Does Cynthia Nixon even have a capital gains tax plan?”

New York State does not offer lower taxes for capital gains, so her plan is to raise taxes on capital gains, dividends, interest, and everything else that’s taxed as income.

      • Fair enough. That said the maximum federal long term capital gains (and qualified dividend) rate is only 20%, compared to 37% for earned income.

I found this for her tax plan: https://www.wsj.com/articles/cynthia-nixon-aims-to-tax-wealthy-to-pay-for-7-billion-education-plan-1528925308

Doesn’t sound like a big deal, though a tax hike on $300,000 joint earners seems unfair given the cost of living in NYC. A cost of living which will only increase if de Blasio, Nixon, and de Blasio’s Mexican stooge succeed in destroying the only decent public schools left in NYC.

Her plans for the revenue are also irrational (susprise). Pre-K has been proven useless by 50 years of Head Start, and the correlation between additional education spending and improved results is extremely weak once you control for student quality. Japan manages to do with just one teacher for each 38 students. And with so many school shootings lately, should we really be sending our children to school?

She also seems overly focused on NYC issues. This is sure to make her unpopular Upstate. Nobody Upstate cares about the MTA or “Rent Justice”. Upstate New York has almost nine million people, and a higher fraction of them are US citizens.

        Thorfinnsson

        June 25, 2018 at 12:03 PM

      • “And with so many school shootings lately, should we really be sending our children to school?”

Yes we should, it’s fake news, school shootings are extremely rare.

      • “Nobody Upstate cares about the MTA or “Rent Justice”. Upstate New York has almost nine million people, and a higher fraction of them are US citizens”

The quality of life in most counties uptown of NYC are not good. Want to live in Buffalo or some industrial nook? No thanks.

Furthermore, NAMs are not an insignificant population in Upstate NY. For example, the city of Newburgh in Orange County has a lot Hispanics and blacks, more than 1/2 of its population.

        JS

        June 25, 2018 at 12:41 PM

      • There are some very nice parts of Upstate, but a lot of Upstate is part of the Rustbelt. Closed factories and no jobs for the blacks who moved up there at the urging of factory owners way back during the Great Migration North.

    • The government does a really bad job of marketing that program. Maybe if they operated like other charities, had parties for rich people, gave public recognition for big contributors, etc., they’d receive a lot more in donations.

      • That is precisely what makes government spending more rational, that they just use force to bypass the free rider problem rather than relying on other much more expensive much less effective solutions.
