Alert: software developers are nerds
A commenter linked to this article about a software developer who was fired “after making sexual jokes in the audience during a keynote session at PyCon, a conference for Python developers.”
Software developers are nerds who don’t know how to behave around women. Because of this, they often will make inappropriate talk like the kind cited in the article. They don’t do this because they are evil and mean-spirited, they do it because they are nerds who don’t know how to behave around women.
And the reason they don’t know how to behave around women is because girls avoided them like the bubonic plague when they were in high school and middle school, and maybe even in college, so they never got to have any experience with hanging out with the opposite sex.
So the way I see it, the women who got the guy fired was blaming him for a condition that she and other members of her sex were responsible for in the first place.

Nerds are among the last self-made Americans – real men. They obtain employment solely through their wits, face instant accountability for the results of their work and continually must relearn their craft. No connections/bros/Daddy/AA to give them a comfy ride.

GLP’s been covering this in detail. While I haven’t devoured every word of coverage, it’s important to point out that the gentlemen in question were joking among themselves (whether sotto voce or not, I’m not sure) when a woman seated in front of them suffered a “Joan of Arc” (her self-comparison) epiphany and decided to turn around and photograph them and then expose them on twitter.
So it misconstrues the scenario to simply say that nerds don’t know how to behave “around women” (true as that doubtless is) because in this case, a little Miz BusyBee took it upon herself to play Holy Inquisitor by twisting around and taking their photograph, etc. –For the children!, as it turns out, according to her, in my opinion rather psychotic, sense of entitled outrage.
–Also note, tho I have not as yet clicked for the lady’s photo, I’m given to understand she looks like a DMV employee . . . .

She just got fired. What kind of an idiot PR person would tweet on behalf of Sendgrid (the company for whom she worked), alienates a large portion of the customer base (i.e., the nerds writing the email code), then publicly announce tweets (probably without clearance with PR) that Sendgrid supports her! Good riddance! She was fired for incompetence.

HS is wrong on this one. The reason why this is an issue is Adria Richards doesn’t know how to behave around other people. Making immature sexual jokes is not some nerd-only trait. Men of all walks of life do it, and women who aren’t indoctrinated into being supreme bitches either ignore it (if they don’t like the guy) or react positively (if they do like the guy).

And people make ribald jokes in non-nerd professions. When female reporters were first allowed in locker rooms, they were subjected to much worse talk.
And Adria Richards is guilty of her own off-colour comments.

This is simply another case of women inserting themselves into a male environment, and then expecting special treatment. The jokes that combat soldiers tell one another could peel wallpaper and, now that feminists have forced the military into allowing women in combat, are these soldiers now going to have to behave like choirboys in front of “GI Jane”?

IT nerds are higher status than they were before because the tech industry has made being a nerd relatively cooler than ever before. But, granted, that’s not a high hurdle to jump because it used to be close to rock bottom. Not as high in SMV as Tom Brady, but still a nice improvement.

Nerds are always acting inappropriately towards women. Like the recent case where a girl passed out drunk at a party at the Steubenville High School computer club. She was molested and they posted pictures of it on tweeter.

All these nerdy conferences are now bending over backwards to show they’re not nerdy when, in fact, their servile response shows they are. This incident is just one of several where women have enjoyed exerting authority over dumb men at these conferences.
At non-nerd conferences, the defendants would be treated with due process.

This is why we need to convert white nerds and libertarians (yes, there’s substantial overlap) to pro-white HBD. Nerds and Libertarians are more likely to ignore an appeal to emotion (you’re comments hurt my feelings) and focus on cause and effect and fact. This is why a plurality of GNXP readers and HBD readers were libertarian, though that proportion may have dropped over the past years as traffic to HBD websites has increased and brought in people outside the old HBD yuppie-libertarian demo.

I suspect most of the audience consisted of white males. They were unlucky to be seated right behind the only woman in the crowd, and a resentful black feminist to boot.
I think that the company was wrong to fire him. So what if he was making sex jokes? Americans are becoming idiots through this PC thing. As for the woman, good riddance.

My guess is that whites and asians (east asian and south asian) were in roughly equal proportion and women were a sizable minority. Of the women, my guess is that the majority were asian.

I remember my friend telling me that when he first arrived as a grad student at [an ivy university] he had to work as a TA like all the other foreigner grad students. He was pulled aside by another Russian and given some advice: “in this country, do not be alone in the same room with a female student, and answer all her questions in the shortest, most direct way possible. Keep contact with them to a minimum, and do not socialize with them, ever, no matter how nice they may seem”.
I have not received such wisdom upon arrival to these shores, and had to learn the hard way. But with experience, I now aim to never socialize with women at work, never be in the same room alone with a woman, and keep all contact brief and to the point.

How sad is it that things have gotten this bad, thanks to the malign influence of feminism? That men should even have to deal with this sort of nonsense speaks volumes as to the decline of the west. The more I hear of feminism poisoning our society, the more I appreciate Asian cultures such as Japan, in which men may still behave as men and where women have not morphed into feminist harpies.
