MSM hides the race of black perpetrators

Why hasn’t a single word been popularized yet representing the journalistic practice of hiding the race of perpetrators?
A lot has been written about this, and the late Lawrence Auster had a lot to say about that in his blog.
Once upon a time, it was standard practice for the New York Times to mention the race of criminal suspects. But today, the mainstream media believes that racism is the greatest evil imaginable, and that it’s their job as responsible gatekeepers to hide any news that might cause Americans to become more racist. Drawing attention to the fact that blacks commit crime at approximately ten times the rate of whites is one such thing that the mainstream media believes would make Americans become more racist, and therefore must be hidden.

I read somewhere that in Europe, a lot of the news agencies blur out the faces of perpetrators and then lighten the shade of the blur feature, leaving the impression that the individual is white.

It’s not true that they don’t tell the race of a suspect. They do, if the suspect is white. So you can always safely assume that anyone that anyone who’s race they pointedly do not identify is black. (So it sort of backfires on them…)

And more broadly, any ambiguity should be interpreted pessimistically.
For example, when the titles were “violence at Trump rallies”, there was ambiguity (violence by whom? against whom?.)
Had the violence been perpetrated by Trump supporters, the title would have clearly said so. That alone was sufficient to deduce that Trump supporters were being attacked.

Yup. That’s what the New York Times does all the time. They make an effort to identify white perpetrators as white but elide the question when the perp is black. Is the Times aware of how stupid this is, how stupid their editorial policy is? They really do take their readership for rubes, who can be fooled and led by the nose on anything.

You underestimate the percentage of the population who are rubes. To some degree, this really does work, just like the constant portrayal of blacks as highly capable and intelligent doctors, police detectives, judges, computer experts, pilots, etc. on TV and in movies really does convince people that blacks are more intelligent and capable than they really are.

Here is a bitter truth: a “close relative of mine” worked in a hospital in the ghetto in a major east coast city for many years. Many of the patients were NAMs, and for a time there was a black doctor on the staff. On many occasions, the NAMS refused or tried to avoid seeing this doctor, who they assumed to be incompetent.

Well, in any forum that still allows comments, you will invariably see a load of comments pointing out the race of the perps, along with a lot of comments making fun of the attempted deception (using “teens” and “youths” and such). Naturally, many sites have gotten rid of comments all together, or selectively close them for stories with a racial element, especially with an immigration element.

Print journalism can get away with that but local TV news can’t. Whenever I watch local news, booking photos and surveillance cameras of crimes tell the tale, and the do it day after day for years and years. You have to imagine it has an effect.

Every morning the local newspaper in my Florida county publishes the mugshots and violations for all arrests from the prior day. My county is 10% black, but represent 75% of every day’s mugshots. But that’s probably because the cops are racist. Many of these arrests are for stupid actions that could easily be avoided; for example – DUI, driving w/o a license, and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.

True. My county in the snowy Upper Midwest is about 90% white and 3% Asian. The local papers never mention the race of the perps but usually publish their police mug shot and, of course, their name. I’d estimate NAM’s at about 90%. I’m always surprised by the (infrequent) occurrence of a non-Hispanic white defendant.

There are well-regarded reports out there (but not discussed in the MSM) that show that cops kill many, many more White people than blacks. I’d like to see the MSM report the numbers of cops killed by blacks each year; I’m certain it far surpasses the no. killed by White people.
